About

Kerri is an emerging ceramic artist based in Noosa, Queensland, originally from the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Her journey with ceramics began in 2019 during a Visual Arts Diploma at TAFE, where she discovered a profound connection with clay. After completing her diploma, Kerri continued to explore ceramics through self-guided hand-building techniques from home, uncovering her unique artistic voice. Her work reflects personal growth and emotional depth, inspired by history, global cultures, and the beauty of the natural world.

Recognised for her distinctive style in mixing clays and known under the brand Nioka Clay, Kerri's work has been exhibited internationally with 1000 Vases in Paris and is a part of the Anfisa Design collective in Western Australia. Her pieces are showcased in styling campaigns and have found residence in prestigious designer homes across Australia.

The name Nioka Clay is inspired by the road Kerri grew up on in the Adelaide Hills, Nioka Drive where she has many treasured memories. So much formation of who Kerri grew up to be, came from this place and the family who lived there. When Kerri first got her hands in clay as a 38 year old, she felt an instant connection to her childhood. Mud and water moving through her hands igniting joy just like it did when she was a little girl playing by the creek in her backyard. Kerri's parents sold the family home on Nioka Drive around the same time she started her journey with clay. She wanted to keep a part of it with her somehow and that’s how the name landed.
Nioka represents not only where Kerri comes from but it embodies the sentiment of coming home to herself.
